Themed, “Building a Resilient Economy in an Era of Disruptions: Strategic Imperatives for the Banking and Financial Services Industry,” the two-day conference is expected to focus on practical strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s financial institutions and positioning the banking sector for sustainable growth amid emerging economic and technological disruptions.

Speaking at a press conference briefing, Oseni, who is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB), said the 2026 edition had been designed to deliver more than discussions, with emphasis on actionable solutions and stakeholder collaboration.

“This year, we have curated what is set to be the biggest edition of the CIBN Annual Banking and Finance Conference in years—and by biggest, I am not just speaking about size,” Oseni said.

According to him, the conference will combine business sessions with youth-focused and cybersecurity programmes, alongside solution-driven discussions involving institutions and stakeholders with the authority to implement resolutions reached at the event.

He said the conference would also feature, for the first time, a women-focused programme aimed at examining the role of women in building a resilient, inclusive and future-ready economy.

Oseni described the initiative as a milestone in the banking industry’s efforts to promote transformative leadership and economic inclusion, noting that the focus on women and youths aligns with Wema Bank’s strategic commitment to empowering lives through innovation.
