Five-time world champions, the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, continued their preparations for the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Championship with two friendly matches in Abuja on Saturday.
The Nigerian youngsters recorded an emphatic 4-0 victory over Simonben Academy of Kaduna in their first game at the FIFA Goal Project pitch inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium.
Despite creating several scoring opportunities in an entertaining first half, the Golden Eaglets went into the break with just a one-goal advantage.
Coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere’s side, however, stepped up their performance after the interval and completely overwhelmed their opponents, scoring three more goals to seal a convincing 4-0 win.

Later in the evening, the Golden Eaglets returned to the same venue for another friendly against Abuja-based Galadima FC.
The encounter proved much tougher, with Galadima FC putting up a strong defensive display to frustrate the Eaglets.
Nigeria created opportunities in their bid to break the deadlock but were unable to find a way past their resilient opponents as the contest ended goalless.
The friendly matches form part of the Golden Eaglets’ build-up to this year’s WAFU-B U-17 Championship.
The competition is scheduled to take place from October 4 to 17 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
