Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has made a promise to the club’s supporters ahead of the transfer deadline day.

Following the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Monday night, Arteta promised the club would be active on the last day of the transfer window.

The Premier League champions continued their flawless start to the season with a win against Unai Emery’s team at Villa Park.

Bukayo Saka netted the only goal of the match in the 59th minute, securing all three points for the Gunners.

Speaking after the match, Arteta was asked about his intentions for transfer deadline day, with the window remaining open until midnight on Tuesday, September 1.

He assured Arsenal supporters that the club would endeavour to improve the squad on deadline day.

He said, according to Football London, “We are striving to improve the squad, and until tomorrow night, we will continue to pursue that.

“I have been disconnected from the outside world for 24 hours, as I believe my energy and focus should be on the match, and I will return to that now.”

Arsenal have notably strengthened the squad that clinched the Premier League title and finished as runners-up in the Champions League last season.

They have signed Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis, Ezri Konsa, Illan Meslier, and made Piero Hincapie’s loan deal permanent.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, and Fabio Vieira are all anticipated to depart on deadline day, with Ethan Nwaneri also likely to go out on loan.
