The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kaduna State, Usman Shehu Bawa, has described the death of the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, Malam Nafi’u Baba-Ahmed, as a great loss to the nation.
In a condolence message signed on his behalf by his spokesperson, Yusuf Idris, on Tuesday, Bawa said the life and times of the deceased were marked by service to Islam and humanity.
He said the late Baba-Ahmed would always be remembered for his uprightness, wisdom and dedication to the cause of Islam and service to humanity.
Bawa, while extending his condolences to the Baba-Ahmed family, said Nigeria has lost one of her great minds and patriots.
He prayed for Allah’s forgiveness for the shortcomings of the deceased and for his immediate family to have the fortitude to bear the loss.
