The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15 Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has unveiled key priorities of his proposed administration, promising to create a secure and business-friendly environment capable of driving investment, economic growth and shared prosperity across the state.
Speaking during an interactive session with the Osun State Muslim Community at its secretariat in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyebamiji said his administration would focus on policies that stimulate economic development while ensuring equitable distribution of resources among all communities.
The APC candidate disclosed that a team of experts had already been constituted to develop implementation strategies for critical sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, power generation and workers’ welfare.
According to him, strengthening these sectors would lay a solid foundation for economic expansion, job creation and improved living standards for residents.
“My decision to contest the governorship election was deliberate and purposeful. We have assembled a competent team to identify areas requiring immediate intervention, particularly in power generation, education, healthcare delivery and agriculture, because these sectors are critical to building a stronger economy for Osun State,” he said.
Oyebamiji also pledged that his administration would uphold fairness, justice and equity in governance, assuring residents that no part of the state would be marginalised in the allocation of projects and public resources.
He stressed that the vision of Osun’s founding fathers was to build a united state driven by collective progress rather than religious or sectional divisions.
The APC flag bearer reaffirmed his commitment to peaceful conduct before, during and after the August 15 governorship election, expressing confidence of victory while calling for a free, fair and credible electoral process.
“I remain steadfast in my faith and trust in Allah. By His grace, I am confident of victory, but beyond that, I am committed to ensuring that the election is peaceful and credible,” he added.
Earlier, President of the Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi, described Oyebamiji as a committed Muslim who had maintained a longstanding relationship with the Islamic community.
While reiterating that the Muslim community remains non-partisan, Olawuyi said the organisation used the opportunity to present its expectations to the APC candidate, urging any incoming administration to uphold justice, equity and inclusiveness in governance.
He also called for greater recognition of Islamic law within the state’s legal and administrative framework, alongside policies that promote the welfare of all residents regardless of religious affiliation.
