The Director-General of the Imole Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi, has assured the people of Osun State that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second term would bring even greater benefits, building on what he described as the administration’s impressive achievements in office.

Oyewumi highlighted that under Adeleke, Osun State had maintained the top position in the South-West in healthcare for two consecutive years, winning $500,000 each time, and that no local government area had been left untouched by the administration’s road construction programme.

He also recounted how the Governor replicated a curved flyover he saw in Atlanta, giving birth to the Oke Fia Flyover in Osogbo, the state capital.

The Senator expressed concern over what he termed as recent politically motivated killings of Accord Party members in the state, noting that despite the Inspector-General of Police’s visit, another victim was killed on Sunday simply for wearing an Accord Party T-Shirt and cap.

He expressed optimism that such tactics would not deter residents from voting, describing the opposition as “mediocre” and lacking political knowledge.

On unemployment, Oyewumi said Adeleke inherited a backlog of unpaid arrears and pensions and had been working hard to clear them while maintaining prompt salary payments despite the state’s low allocation ranking at 28 nationally.

He assured that by the second term, all outstanding payments would be settled, allowing employment to fully commence.

The Senator noted that the Governor ensured his appointees were professionals who brought their expertise to bear on their assignments.

The NUJ Chairman also drew the senator’s attention to the poor condition of Olupona Community High School in Osun West, and Oyewumi promised that the school would be rehabilitated by December 2026.

He also recalled that the destruction of Adeleke’s campaign billboards by the opposition was an assault that ultimately benefited the Governor’s popularity in the state.
