Rivers United assistant coach Yemi Olanrewaju has reiterated the team's desire to fight for the title this season, DAILY POST reports.
The Pride of Rivers secured top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, following a 0-0 draw against Barau FC in a Matchday 9 encounter in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Finidi George's side remain the only club yet to taste defeat in the NPFL this season.
Olanrewaju said they wanted to go all the way this time around after finishing second behind Rangers last season.
"I think we are prepared, this is Rivers United. The pressure is on us to do well this season, more than we did last season," Olanrewaju told the club's media.
"For us, we are not even looking at the unbeaten run, it doesn't really matter. We just want to get as many points as possible.
"The key thing for us is not to concede. If you don't concede, you can't lose a game. That's our philosophy."
Rivers United will face Bendel Insurance in a South South derby at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Sunday.
