2027: TMGA Storms Yola, Mobilise Support For Tinubu Re-Election

In an effort to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election, the “Tinubu Must Go Again 2027 (TMGA 2027) campaign” has stormed Yola, the Adamawa State capital, demonstrating the president’s support base for the North-East.

In an effort to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election, the “Tinubu Must Go Again 2027 (TMGA 2027) campaign” has stormed Yola, the Adamawa State capital, demonstrating the president’s support base for the North-East.

The rally, which took place at the Lamido Cinema, attracted All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters and representatives from the six North-East states and the 21 Local Government Areas of Adamawa State.

The National Coordinator of the TMGA 2027, Professor Sheriff Almuhajir, said the gathering was “part of efforts to counter claims that President Tinubu lacked sufficient support in Northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 presidential election”.

Professor Sheriff Almuhajir explained that, “we are in Yola to inform Nigerians that Northern Nigeria understands the history of this country and the trajectory of its development, hence the need for the group to voluntarily demonstrate support for the president and communicate the administration’s reform agenda to Nigerians”.

“Nigeria was built through the contributions of leaders from different regions, and we believe the country must remain united,” Almuhajir said.

Almuhajir, who is a Professor of Economic and Financial Administration, urged “Nigerians to consider the economic challenges facing the country within the context of the administration’s reform agenda, arguing that difficult decisions were necessary to achieve meaningful economic transformation”.

He said the campaign believed the policies being pursued by the president would help lay the foundation for sustainable growth.

Almuhajir also highlighted President Tinubu’s contributions to the political advancement of Northern politicians, saying the president had supported three candidates from the region, two of whom were from Adamawa State.

He said the gesture reflected the president’s willingness to support the political aspirations of leaders from the North.

The coordinator described the turnout as a response to claims that President Tinubu could not be effectively marketed in Northern Nigeria.

Also speaking, the Adamawa State Secretary of the APC, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, said the president’s longstanding political relationship with the state and federal infrastructure interventions were reasons for continued engagement with the electorate.

“We are committed to mobilising our people in support of his second-term ambition; we will vote for APC from top to bottom”, he said.

The Deputy Chairman of the Adamawa State APC, Dr Raymond Chidama, thanked the campaign leadership for choosing Adamawa as a starting point for the mobilisation drive.

New Telegraph reports that hundreds of young men and women marched through major streets in support of the campaign, while members of the public expressed solidarity along the route.

The Yola rally was part of its nationwide strategy to engage young people, women, professionals and community leaders ahead of the 2027 election, with a focus on promoting continuity, stability and prosperity under the Tinubu administration.
