A campaign group, the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), has started grassroots mobilisation for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group gave the charge at its general meeting which brought together leaders and members from wards across the Owo Local Government Area to review political developments and strategise for the forthcoming elections.
The State Organising Secretary of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, Hon. Akeem Jimoh, commended the Minister of Interior and Grand Patron of the group, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his continued support for progressive politics and youth empowerment.
Jimoh said the Minister’s interventions and grassroots-oriented approach had continued to inspire members and strengthen the group’s activities across the local government.
According to him, “We appreciate the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his consistent support and commitment to the people. His interventions at the grassroots are giving our people hope and encouraging us to remain committed to progressive politics.”
While commending the Ondo State Director-General of the group, Asiwaju Muyiwa Asagunla, he urged members to intensify their mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates.
He said the achievements recorded under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda provided sufficient grounds for continued support for the administration.
His words: “Our responsibility is to take the message of Renewed Hope to every ward, unit and household. We must explain the policies and programmes of the Federal Government to our people and ensure that they understand the direction of the administration.”
Also speaking, Hon. Lekan Olotu Oba appreciated APC members for their support during the recent primary election and urged them to put internal differences behind them in the interest of party unity.
He said, “The primary election is behind us. What is important now is our party’s success in 2027. We must unite, reconcile our differences and work together because victory will only come when we are united.”
The meeting resolved that members across Owo Local Government Area should immediately commence grassroots mobilisation, voter sensitisation and door-to-door engagement in support of President Tinubu and other APC candidates.
Those identified for support included President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Senator Jide Ipinsagba for the Senate; and Otunba Timehin Adelegbe for the House of Representatives.
The group directed its ward and unit leaders to return to their respective communities to consolidate existing support, engage voters, promote peace and unity, and build a formidable grassroots structure capable of delivering a decisive APC victory in the 2027 elections.
The executive of the Asiwaju Mandate Group expressed appreciation to members for their loyalty, commitment, and impressive turnout, reaffirming its determination to work tirelessly towards securing victory for President Tinubu, Senator Jide Ipinsagba, Otunba Timehin Adelegbe, and other APC candidates across Owo Local Government Area in 2027.
