Dickson, a Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, said the NDC is currently dealing with the legal and contrived shenanigans of anti-democratic forces, assuring that the storm shall pass and become a story of the past.

Speaking in a post shared on his verified X handle on Wednesday, Dickson expressed trust in the judiciary to do the right thing according to the law and not allow itself to be used as an instrument to derail democracy.

The former Governor of Bayelsa State lamented that those he devoted his life to supporting and nurturing to serve the people have reversed course.

According to him, they now use government tools to remove officials, victimise innocent citizens, spread baseless propaganda, and betray the goodness he aimed to provide for their families and communities with wickedness and malice.

“Nigeria’s democracy must survive. Multi-party democracy must survive no matter the different odds we may face in the course of returning Nigeria on the right course.

“I have watched with immense pride and satisfaction that, while I laboured here with my colleagues to strengthen and build our party nationally, droves of leaders and citizens, men and women, young and old, have continued to troop out to register, join, and actively participate in the affairs and activities of our party,” he wrote.
