The Allied People’s Movement (APM) said its aim is to win two-fifths of the over 103 million registered voters in the 2027 presidential election.

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) said its aim is to win two-fifths of the over 103 million registered voters in the 2027 presidential election.

Vice presidential candidate of the party, Lawal Daura, made the declaration at the inauguration of the Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO), describing the over a million registered figure as a landmark achievement.

“But then, for us that are in the political arena, it is something very important. And what makes it important is that we are struggling to make sure that we are courting the majority of these voters. And of course, without anybody reminding us, we know it’s a Herculean task.

“And if I gather a lot of these votes, or many of the votes from this 103 million, to be gotten, we have to be realistic. So we are aiming to get nothing less than two-fifths of the 103 million,” he stated.

The former Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) told APM members that there is a way to get those votes other than canvassing for them.

He urged them to join in selling the party’s programmes, adding that the APM presidential candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde, is ready to rescue the country.

“Therefore, the resetting is the only solution so far that can get Nigeria out. And by resetting, it means every other thing that has been configured in Nigeria needs to be looked at, amended, changed, replaced, or whatever,” Daura said.

He stated that the party carefully went for the best in choosing members of the campaign organisation, and called on them to be focused on selling the APM programmes.

The Director-General of the Campaign Council, Felix Hyat, said the assignment is not the responsibility of only the campaign management committee, but the responsibility of members of the APM.

The former Aviation Minister stated that the South West gave Nigerians the wrong product in 2023, but the APM is ready to replace him with a good product, Seyi Makinde from the South West.

“I therefore call on the young people in particular; you have to think, you have a future. You are the one to protect it.

“Nobody is going to protect it for you, because they are already showing that they will not protect it for you. If you follow it, either based on religion, or tribal sentiments, or regional things, it is you who is going to cry tomorrow,” he warned.

Hyat said members of the campaign council are ready to sacrifice their lives to make sure Nigerians feel comfortable and proud again.
